BAY CITY, Mich. - The field for the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball tournament is set after the conclusion of regular-season play on Saturday. Ashland University claimed the 2013 GLIAC Championship and will carry the No. 1 seed into the tournament that begins this Wednesday (Mar. 6) with quarterfinal play at campus sites.
Ashland, which also claimed the 2013 GLIAC South Division title, will host the No. 8 seed Northern Michigan University at 7:00 p.m. in the tounrmant's oening round on Wednesday.
In other quarterfinal action, No. 2 University of Findlay will host seventh-seeded Saginaw Valley State University at 8:00 p.m., No. 3 Wayne State University welcomes No. 6 Ferris State University at 8:00 p.m., while No. 5 Grand Valley State University will visit Michigan Technological University at 7:30 p.m.
The 2013 GLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinals will be hosted by the top remaining seed after quarterfinal play on Saturday, Mar. 9. The Tournament final will be played at the same site on Sunday, Mar. 10. (Game times are TBD).
