WSU's Mroue and GVSU's Hunter earn GLIAC women's soccer player of the week honors

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2026 women's soccer season. Wayne State forward Sienna Mroue (Offensive Player of the Week) and Grand Valley State goalkeeper Macie Hunter (Defensive Player of the Week) were honored. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sienna Mroue, Wayne State
Wayne State University freshman forward Sienna Mroue (Dearborn, Mich.) has been selected GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after extending her goal-scoring streak to five matches by scoring the first two goals of the match in Friday's 2-1 triumph at Ferris State. Mroue has a GLIAC-leading six goals on the season. The game-winner on Friday was also her third game-winning goal of the season, which also leads the GLIAC.  
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Macie Hunter, Grand Valley State
Sophomore goalkeeper Macie Hunter has been named the GLIAC defensive player of the week for the first time this season. Hunter posted her first shutout of the season in the 3-0 win at Northern Michigan in the GLIAC opener making two saves. She made one save in the 4-0 win at Michigan Tech to close the opening weekend of GLIAC play. This season, Hunter has started in all six games for the Lakers making 11 saves.
