GLIAC announces conference staff updates

Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Commissioner Kris Dunbar announced Monday that Josh Pickler has rejoined the league office as Assistant Commissioner.

This is Pickler's second stint with the GLIAC, as he previously served as the conference's Director of Video Operations and Multimedia for two years (2023-25).

"Josh has always been a respected member of the GLIAC community, and we're excited to have him return to our conference office," said Dunbar. "His familiarity with our institutions, strong relationships across the league, and commitment to excellence make him an ideal fit for this role. We are fortunate to have someone of Josh's caliber back on our staff."

Pickler returns to the GLIAC after acting as the Marketing/Group Sales Coordinator at Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club. At Arcadia Bluffs, he led social and digital marketing initiatives to promote group sales, golf experiences, lodging and special events through in-house and external marketing materials.

Pickler also served as a digital media intern in the athletic communications department at Saginaw Valley State from August 2021 until his graduation in May 2023.

A native of Corunna, Mich., Pickler earned his bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's degree in sport administration from SVSU.

Dunbar also announced the elevation of John Regenfuss to Associate Commissioner.

"Over the years, John has taken on increasing responsibilities while earning the respect and trust of our membership through his dedication, work ethic, and collaborative approach. His promotion to Associate Commissioner reflects his outstanding contributions to the GLIAC."

Regenfuss, who is entering his fifth year with the GLIAC, is primarily responsible for the management of the conference website and social media accounts, postseason awards coordination, updating conference statistics and records and providing coverage of the league's championships.

Regenfuss is active at the Division II level, serving on the Regional Advisory Committees for women's soccer and softball and as the national coordinator for the D2CCA football awards. He is also part of the voting committee for the D2CCA Women's Basketball Player of the Week award and the NCBWA Midwest Region top 10 voting committee.
