GLIAC Football Gameday >> Week 6

The hunt for the 2026 GLIAC football championship continues this Saturday, with four conference games on the schedule.

A Week 6 marquee matchup with national and postseason implications is set to take place in Houghton, as No. 6 Grand Valley State (5-0, 1-0 GLIAC) visits No. 19 Michigan Tech (4-1, 1-0 GLIAC). Kick off is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Huskies' Kearly Stadium.

The Lakers are rolling thus far in 2026, ranking No. 1 in Division II in scoring offense (55.8 ppg) and No. 2 in scoring defense (7.4 ppg). GVSU opened GLIAC play last week with a 69-3 win over Wayne State.

Michigan Tech began conference action with a 57-28 road win over then-unbeaten Roosevelt. The Huskies are headlined by linebacker Chase Koch, the GLIAC's leading tackler (10.8/game).

No. 1 Ferris State (5-0, 1-0 GLIAC) hosts Saginaw Valley State (2-3, 0-1 GLIAC) in a 1 p.m contest at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids.

Four of the last five meetings between the Bulldogs and the Cardinals have been decided by six points or less, all won by Ferris State, including last year's double overtime thriller in University Center.

The FSU-SVSU matchup pits the nation's No. 2-ranked Bulldog defense against the GLIAC's top passing offense, fronted by Cardinals quarterback Connor Wolf, who has thrown for 1,408 yards and 13 touchdowns thus far this season.

No. 11 Davenport (5-0, 1-0 GLIAC) faces Northern Michigan (0-5, 0-1 GLIAC) in a rematch of a nonconference meeting on Sept. 19, won by the Panthers, 42-7, in Marquette. Game time is set for 2 p.m. in Caledonia at Richard J. Pappas Stadium.

DU running back Cephus Harris, the nation's leader in rushing yards per game (199.8), powers the NCAA's No. 3 rushing attack. The Wildcats will counter with the 2025 GLIAC Offensive Back of the Year, Noah Dobert, who has 516 yards on the ground in 2026.

It's the Windy City vs. the Motor City, as Roosevelt (4-1, 0-1 GLIAC) visits Wayne State (0-5, 0-1 GLIAC) for a 1 p.m. game at the Warriors' Tom Adams Field. Both teams are seeking their first conference win of the season.
