Grand Valley State earns 31st GLIAC Presidents' Trophy

2024-25 GLIAC Presidents' Trophy Final Standings

GLIAC -- GLIAC -- The 2024-25 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) competition year is complete and the final standings of the annual Presidents' Trophy have been tabulated. The Grand Valley State Lakers have captured their 31th GLIAC Presidents' Trophy and are positioned atop the conference standings for the 26th consecutive season.

GVSU collected 168 total points and 13 league championships during the 2024-25 season, including eight titles and 96 points in women's competition along with five championships and 72 points by the Lakers' men's teams.

Saginaw Valley State earned its third-consecutive runner-up finish with 113 points, just ahead of Wayne State in third with 108 points and Ferris State with 106. Davenport placed fifth with an 91.5-point total, followed by Northern Michigan (80), Parkside (78), Michigan Tech (55), Purdue Northwest (53), Lake Superior State (39.5) and Roosevelt (39).

The GLIAC Presidents' Trophy standings are based on final regular season standings except for the following sports that are based on conference tournament finish: cross country, golf, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, swimming & diving.

The Presidents' Trophy is awarded at the end of each year of competition to the conference member having demonstrated general excellence in all or most sports. The award is designed to promote well-rounded athletic programs within each member institution.
