Tech's Nora, GVSU's Cardamone and Bacik tabbed GLIAC football players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 9 of the 2025 football season. Michigan Tech redshirt sophomore wide receiver Nic Nora was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Grand Valley State senior linebacker Anthony Cardamone earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition and Grand Valley State sophomore kicker Mathew Bacik was honored as GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nic Nora, Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech redshirt sophomore wide receiver Nic Nora has been named the Week Nine GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The Kingsford, Michigan, native recorded a career-high three rushing touchdowns in the 56-31 win over Roosevelt at Kearly Stadium on Saturday. In total, Nora rushed for 59 yards on six carries with a long of 21 yards while catching three passes for 53 yards, including a long of 33 yards.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Anthony Cardamone, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State senior linebacker Anthony Cardamone tallied seven tackles, including 1.5 QB sacks (-10) and 1.5 tackles for loss (-10) in the Lakers' 59-13 victory at Wayne State. Cardamone was a key piece of a defense that limited Wayne State to 141 yards of total offense while he was in the game. Cardamone leads GVSU in total tackles with 52, including a team-best 4.5 QB sacks (-20) and 6.5 tackles for loss (-22), five QB hurries and a fumble recovery. Cardamone now has 242 career tackles, 34.5 tackles for loss and 19 QB sacks in his career. 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mathew Bacik, Grand Valley State
GVSU sophomore place kicker Mathew Bacik hit a 29-yard field goal, was 8-for-8 in point after attempts and averaged 53.7 yards on nine kickoffs with one touchback in the Lakers' 59-13 victory over Wayne State. Bacik is 37-for-38 in PATs and has converted five field goals on the season, including a career-long 54-yarder.
