NMU's Dobert, GVSU's Wyatt and Hrgich receive GLIAC football player of the week recognition

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 10 of the 2025 football season. Northern Michigan redshirt freshman running back Noah Dobert was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Grand Valley State sophomore linebacker Torian Wyatt earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors and Grand Valley State senior punter Trace Hrgich was recognized as GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Noah Dobert, Northern Michigan
Another week, another dominant performance from Northern Michigan running back Noah Dobert. The redshirt freshman has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season following his dominant effort in Northern’s 47-45 four-overtime win at Davenport on Saturday. Dobert once again stole the show, rushing 33 times for 243 yards and four touchdowns while adding the game-winning two-point conversion in the fourth overtime to seal the victory. His 243-yard outing matched his career high from earlier this season and helped earn the team’s first victory at Davenport. The marathon victory tied the longest game in program history and marked Northern’s first win over Davenport since 2021. The GLIAC’s leading rusher continues to turn heads on the national stage. He ranks fourth in Division II in total rushing yards (1,250) and fifth in rushing yards per game (125.0). His two 243-yard performances both rank inside the NCAA’s top 15 this season. With 11 touchdowns, he’s also produced the most rushing scores by a Wildcat since Jake Mayon’s 14 in 2018. This marks the second time Dobert has earned the league’s weekly honor this year. He first took home the award in October after powering NMU to a 42-21 win over Roosevelt, when he rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns as part of the Wildcats’ school-record 538-yard rushing day.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Torian Wyatt, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State sophomore linebacker Torian Wyatt played a key role in the Lakers' 18-15 victory over Michigan Tech Saturday before a crowd of 11,394 at Lubbers Stadium. Wyatt recorded a career-high nine tackles, 2.0 QB sacks (-12), 2.5 tackles for loss (-13), forced a safety, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. The Laker defense held Michigan Tech 20 points and over 100 yards below their season averages. Wyatt has 41 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 QB sacks on the year.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Trace Hrgich, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State senior punter, Trace Hrgich, was a key performer in the Lakers' 18-15 victory over Michigan Tech Saturday before a crowd of 11,394. Hrgich punted six times with an average of 43.7 yards, dropped three inside the 20 yard line and had a long of 57 yards. Following a punt, Michigan Tech's average starting position was the 20 yard line in a game where field position was a big part of the game. Following his 57-yard punt that pinned the Huskies at the 10 yard line, GVSU recorded a safety to take an 8-0 lead in the second quarter. Hrgich leads the GLIAC and ranks second nationally in punting with a 45.8 average, while dropping 14 inside the 20 yard. In addition, he has recorded a 50-yard punt in nine games.
