Grand Valley State earns 30th GLIAC Presidents' Trophy


2023-24 GLIAC Presidents' Trophy Final Standings
 

GLIAC -- The 2023-24 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) competition year is complete and the final standings of the annual Presidents' Trophy have been tabulated. The Grand Valley State Lakers have captured their 30th GLIAC Presidents' Trophy and are positioned atop the conference standings for the 25th consecutive season.
 

GVSU collected 149 total points and 14 league championships during the 2023-24 season, including nine titles and 85.5 points in women's competition along with five championships and 63.5 points by the Lakers' men's teams.
 

Saginaw Valley State earned its third-consecutive runner-up finish with 97 points, ahead of Wayne State State in third with 85 points. Ferris State placed fourth with an 83-point total, followed by Northern Michigan (72), Davenport (70.5), Parkside (68), Purdue Northwest (49), Michigan Tech (48) and Lake Superior State (30.5).

The GLIAC Presidents' Trophy standings are based on final regular season standings except for the following sports that are based on conference tournament finish: cross country, golf, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, swimming & diving.
 

The Presidents' Trophy is awarded at the end of each year of competition to the conference member having demonstrated general excellence in all or most sports. The award is designed to promote well-rounded athletic programs within each member institution.
