GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fourth week of the 2024-25 women's basketball season. Roosevelt senior forward Jayla Turchin was selected GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Michigan Tech senior guard Isabella Lenz was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jayla Turchin, Roosevelt
Jayla Turchin was a force to be reckoned with in Roosevelt’s only game of Thanksgiving week, earning her the Lakers’ first GLIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor. The senior from Evanston, Illinois led the Lakers with 22 points, six assists and eight rebounds on an efficient 9-of-16 shooting from the floor. She was also a defensive menace with a team-best six steals, including two key ones in the fourth quarter. In a critical 10-0 run that gave Roosevelt the lead for good, Turchin had an assist, four points and two steals to give the Lakers a nine-point edge.

Michigan Tech women’s basketball senior guard Isabella Lenz has been named the week four GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This is Lenz's first honor this season.
