HAMMOND, Ind. -- The largest NCAA volleyball tournament in the country is once again coming to the Hammond Sportsplex. The  Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) come together for the 2024 Midwest Region Crossover. The crossover tournament event will be October 18-19 in the 12 court facility with 38 teams competing. Each team will be guaranteed three matches and every session will utilize six courts at once. Purdue Northwest’s John Friend Court will also be utilized for three matches on Friday. 
 
“We're excited to welcome back the 16th Annual Crossover Volleyball Tournament to Lake County," said Phil Taillon, President/CEO of the SSCVA. "Our hotels and restaurants around the Hammond Sportsplex are excited to host the influx of collegiate Athletes, coaches, and fans. We hope that many people participating in this tournament will take time to visit some of our unique attractions and events in NWI".
 
The GLIAC will field a total of 11 teams, the GLVC will have 14 institutions competing, and the G-MAC will travel 13 different programs. 
 
“The Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover is in its 16th year as the largest collegiate volleyball tournament in the country and we are excited to return to Hammond in 2024,” said Great Midwest Commissioner Tom Daeger. “We are thankful for the tremendous support provided by the SSCVA and Hammond Sportsplex, as well as the collaboration with our fellow leagues in the Midwest, the GLVC and GLIAC, in providing this opportunity for the student-athletes from our region's 38 members. It will be an exciting weekend of high-level volleyball matches and we appreciate the great support from the community during our stay.”
 
Undefeated Ferris State (17-0), the nation's No. 4-ranked team, is the GLIAC’s 1-seed, Hillsdale is the top seed in the Great Midwest and Quincy is the No. 1 seed from the GLVC.
 
The first session starts at 9 a.m. CT on Friday morning, followed by sessions at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7 p.m.
 
Live stats will be provided for all courts, while every match will also be live streamed through JEDtv. Links to both coverage options can be found on the tournament website.
 
At the conclusion, the Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament Team will be announced.
