GLIAC Announces Fall 2009 Commissioner's Award Recipients

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the Fall 2009 recipients of the GLIAC Commissioner's Awards for Academic and Athletic Excellence. The awards, sponsored by Meijer, Incorporated, are presented after the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons to six male and six female student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.

Grand Valley State Finishes Second at the D-II National Championship; Seven Athletes Earn All-American Honors

Bay City, Mich.--Grand Valley State University finished second at the Division II Cross Country Championship on Saturday, November 21 held in Evansville, Ind. Katherine McCarthy led a group of five Lakers who finished in the top-30. Grand Valley State's score of 81 was just eight points behind first place Adams State.
