The 2011 GLIAC Women's Volleyball Tournament Field is Set

BAY CITY, Mich. - The field for the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's volleyball tournament is set as regular season play finished on Sunday (Nov. 6).  Ferris State University will carry the No. 1 seed in the tournament as the 2011 GLIAC co-Champion.  The Bulldogs finished tied with Hillsdale College for the best regular season conference record (18-1), but claimed the top seed through GLIAC tie-breakers.

2011 GLIAC women's volleyball tournament play will get underway with the quarterfinals on Thursday, Nov. 10 on campus sites.  Top-seeded Ferris State will host the No. 8 seed, Wayne State University.  The other quarterfinal in the top half of the bracket will see No. 5 Northern Michigan University visiting No. 4 Ashland University.

The bottom half of the bracket had No. 2 seed, Hillsdale, hosting seventh-seeded Northwood University.  No. 6 Grand Valley State University will travel to No. 3 Saginaw Valley State University in the fourth quarterfinal match.

The tournament semifinals and final will be played on Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13 at the site of the highest remaining seed after the quarterfinals.
