Ashland, Grand Valley State Women Named Division II’s "Scholar Teams of the Year"

NEW ORLEANS – The women’s track & field teams at Ashland University and Grand Valley State University were named Monday as Scholar Teams of the Year in Division I for the 2010 seasons by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Bay City, Mich.--The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced today the Spring 2010 All-Academic Teams. 594 student-athletes from 12 institutions were honored in the following sports;baseball, softball, men's tennis, men and women's golf and men and women's outdoor track and field. To be eligible for all-academic status, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a freshman or first year transfer.

New Orleans, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Tuesday (June 15) that Grand Valley State was awarded the Division II Women's Program of the Year Award for the 2009-10 school year. This is the second consecutive season the Lakers have captured the title.
