GLIAC Athletes Named USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Acadmic Honorees

NEW ORLEANS - This week the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the Division II Cross Country All-Academic Honorees. Thirty-one athletes from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athletes (GLIAC) earned the honor.

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the Fall 2009 recipients of the GLIAC Commissioner's Awards for Academic and Athletic Excellence. The awards, sponsored by Meijer, Incorporated, are presented after the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons to six male and six female student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.

Grand Valley State Finishes Fifth at the D-II National Championship; All-Americans Announced

Bay City, Mich.--Grand Valley State University finished in fifth place at the Division II Cross Country Championship on Saturday, November 21 held in Evansville, Ind. Tyler Emmorey led a group of four Lakers who finished in the top-50 and their 185 points overall earned them the fifth-place finish.
