2017 GLIAC Football Gameday - Week 7

BAY CITY, Mich. -- Week 7 of the 2017 GLIAC Football season is in the books. Game notes, audio, video and live stats links for six GLIAC football contests on Saturday, October 14 can be found below.

Tiffin quarterback Nick Watson scored three touchdowns to lead the Dragons over visiting Northern Michigan 35-24. The game was knotted at 21 each after three quarters before a pair of TU scores put the game away despite 219 rushing yards and two scored from NMU running back Jake Mayon.

Davenport earned its first victory as a Division II member as the Panthers used 386 rushing yards to down McKendree in double overtime, 27-24. Kicker Jerred McGuire hit the game-winning 41-yard field goal in double overtime for the homecoming victory.


No. 16 Ashland continued its hot streak forcing five Michigan Tech turnovers and allowing just 166 yards of total offense in a 48-0 blanking. AU quarterback Travis Tarnowski tied his own school record with five TD passes as the Eagles have allowed just 16 points in their last four games.

No. 7 Grand Valley State went on the road to Truman State and dominated to earn a 42-7 victory. Bart Williams set a GVSU single-game record for completions to start a game as he finished the first half of action 15-for-15 passing for 290 yards and three TDs. 

No. 15 Ferris State crashed Saginaw Valley's homecoming festivities on Saturday and picked up a 49-17 win thanks to 165 yards receiving on nine catches and two touchdowns from wideout Malik Taylor. 

Despite going 4-of-13 for 45 yards, Northwood quarterback Joe Garbarino threw a pair of touchdown passes to Gary Landless to lead the Timberwolves past Wayne State on the road in Detroit Saturday night. The Warriors held a 10-0 advantage midway through the second quarter before the NU defense dominated the remainder of the contest.
